Whilst cheap they can be nasty
I have been with AI Insurance for over a year. Whilst I had a good experience when it came to fixing my windscreen, I have an extremely negative experience with them when it came to an accident I had at the beginning of the year which was not my fault. The repairer they recommended did not do a very good job, then I had to wait over 3 months to get the money back that I claimed for the hire car and taxi fare.
During all of this AI Insurance took my yearly renewal fee out of my bank account with out sending me a renewal notice. The customer service officer advised me that they sent it by email but I never received it in my inbox or junk. Then about a week late they tried to take it out again without my permission and tried to charge me and extra $20 fee. I am in the process of trying to get back the extra $20 fee and dishounerment fees.
Over all I would not recommend AI Insurance unless you are completely desperate or you can overlook all the problems for the low fees they charge for comprehensive insurance.
