Hassle free experience with 2 claims
Had my VW Tiguan insured with Allianz. Insurance was arranged through a dealership and was incredibly cheap compared to the quotes i was getting trying to search for the insurance myself.
Had 2 claims in one year. 1st one i was not at fault and provided all the details of the at fault driver to Allianz and the rest was taken care of by them. Had to make couple of follow up calls to speed up the process though. It took a while for the vehicle to be repaired but that was outside of Allianz's control. So I was pretty happy.
With the second claim I was at fault. Spend few minutes on the phone to lodge a claim on a Saturday morning. The vehicle had to be towed away and this was arranged in the next half an hour. Took a week for the quote to be finalised and it was decided to write off the car. I was totally happy with the market value the assessor came up with. Again, had to call the insurer few times to follow up on the claim (vehicle was on finance and the bank wasn't in a rush to communicate back to Allianz). In 3.5 weeks i got the money back (less excess and payout to the bank).
I don't know how long would it take with other insurance companies but i have no complaints to Allianz and pretty satisfied with their customer service.
