budget service and competence
Awful company. Budget price clearly equals budget service and competence. I've had experience with other insurers for both work and personal vehicles. This has been the most frustrating experience I've had so far. Our vehicle was hit while parked and stationary. Police attended and all details were provided to the insurer. You would think this should be the easiest of claims processes imaginable. NOT SO WITH THIS COMPANY!
Despite the police report and claim details clearly showing we were not at fault, BD continuously contacted us with demands for payment of the excess! I had to explain on multiple occasions that we were not at fault yet we continued to receive demands for payment. It was clear they never even read the police report as they should have. They then proceed to incorrectly deny us the option of a hire car, and we were left without a vehicle and forced to negotiate with the other party's insurer. After many conversations with the other insurer, it was eventually pointed out that under our comprehensive policy with BD we were actually entitled to a hire car if not at fault!
It appeared that BD's system incorrectly categorised us as the at-fault party due to internal error. By this point, we had been without a vehicle for 2 weeks and our vehicle had still not been assessed. BD refused to acknowledge their error and did not apologise for the inconvenience caused. Despite the newfound offer of $75/day reimbursement for a rental (which would do nothing to replace our BMW 4-series), I instructed them to cancel all our policies. They forwarded me to a customer service department where I was promised and convinced it would be sorted via an escalated complaint which can offer a different resolution. 10 days went by with no contact from BD.
After 10 days of waiting , I eventually called myseld and was once again promised a call back. A man then called and judging by his questions had not even investigated the complaint yet. He was able to offer no resolution other than $75 a day reimbursement which I had already rejected!
We are cancelling all of our 4 policies with them due to their rudeness and incompetence. We will never use this company again and will actively encourage others not to do so.
