Greenslip renewal price backflip

GIO sent me a Greenslip renewal notice. When I called to pay they ran confirmed all details were correct. Picking up that I had changed comprehensive car insurance (held since the car was bought 6 years ago) from AAMI to NRMA, both with lifetime maximum no claim bonus, they informed me it would cost $15 more. YES a price increase because the exact same coverage was with a different company. No explanation was provided as to the sense of this.No accidents, tickets, no nothing changed but the comprehensive insurance provider.

The renewal notice stated "Years of cont. Motor Insurance 6 or more." This is correct. Where does it mention a change of insurer would increase the quote?

I persisted and insisted they hold to their quote (more for principle than $) and argued how ridiculous this was (not to mention the misleading and deceptive conduct) and finally prevailed.

What a waste of precious time! Seriously GIO thumbs down!!! Small but ridiculous.
