Youi All Fine until write off
I have been with youi since I got my license as I thought they were an awesome company with great customer service, until today. My car was written off due to hail damage. We agreed upon a payout value and I knew my excess would come out of that (which you expect). When I called claims to receive the payout a further sum was deducted as the remaining premiums for the year. Never have I been told or received paper work that this is the case. I called to enquire about this and was told if I had of paid insurance for the year upfront I would not receive a refund (like other companies offer) but because I was paying monthly I owed them for the remainder of the year. I asked if this was the same if I cancelled my policy and they said no. So if you cancel with them, you don't pay anything but if your car is written off they take that, the excess and more to pay for the rest of the year. So instead of insuring my new car with them I will be going elsewhere and will no longer be promoting their service to friends and family. As a 20 year old uni student the surprise of the extra cost has screwed me over big time.
