Westpac home & content insurance
On 14/1/2016, I needed to cancel a home & contents policy as I have been offered a more competitively priced policy. I pay monthly, and I have just paid the next month's premium. I called up Westpac customer center to arrange for cancellation and reimbursement of the premium. They said the money will be credited back into my bank account within 10 business days. Today's date is 12/4/2016, and the reimbursement still has not occurred. I have lost count of the number of times I called them, explaining the situation each time, waited for a response, which was "we are not sure why the credit has not occurred". The last time I called, I was passed onto a customer officer who wanted proof that the money has not reimbursed. I was offended by that request but I promptly emailed the bank statement to the customer officer, the statement showed that there was no refund credited. 2 weeks has passed since emailing the bank statement, and the customer officer has not responded, and still no reimbursement. Now, if it has taken more than 3 months to get a reimbursement of about $120, do I have any confidence that Westpac insurance will pay me when I have a legitimate need to make a home or contents claim??? ps. I usually do not complain, but the final straw has broken on this little camel's back.
