Absolutely rubbish experience
Can only hope that at least one person reads this review and avoids AAMI at all costs. I have been a customer of AAMI for many, many years but have never had to claim on anything until recently. I’ve had a run of bad luck with two tenants in the last year who have left me in arrears, causing me to struggle significantly. Despite having landlords insurance, AAMI would not pay the first claim as it was just below 4 weeks, and paid roughly $160 for the second, despite being left out of pocket by $3600. Really disappointed - and has made me realise how completely worthless AAMI policies are, and how they hide behind clauses from PDS documents that are never shared at renewal. I will be strongly urging friends and family and anyone I know to avoid at all costs. Will be taking both car and landlords insurance elsewhere.
AAMI landlord insurance does not cover you for the first four weeks. They will look for any reasons not to pay, despite a tenant breaking a fixed term lease. Please read your PDS and avoid at all costs.
