Allianz sold me a policy for a one year comprehensive multi trip policy for $ 850
No one could have expected the Pandemic and I held the same idea that an insurance company could within reason exclude such a catastrophic event.
What is unusual and very unacceptable is that Allianz through its self owned Agent WORLD CARE offered to reinstate the policy I bought at the end of the Covid Emergency.
But this is the sticky part. Although they made the promise to reinstate they 'suddenly' developed a 'niche' where NO new policy existed and therefore my existing policy which the understood to reinstate could no longer exist.
This is the conundrum I'd prefer anyone else did not have to face.
I have completed the first two legs of my fare away from my departure point which was Johannesburg to Melbourne and now cannot get back without the insurance company stepping n on my side.
Instead of taking care to protect the interests of a 69 yo client who has insured many times before without claim, in this instance the Insurer ALLIANZ chose to repudiate the claim on no particular grounds other than they 'ceased offering this product' and instead declined to offer the client an option to recover their flights.
This repudiation of responsibility is clearly outrageous.
