Allianz travel insurance is terrible. Despite multiple warnings about past experiences from friends, I went ahead with them due to their reputation. I got the policy for my trip to the US via US Airways. Coincidentally, a close relative of mine was diagnosed with a serious illness and I had to cancel that trip. Allianz was excellent at finding loop holes for not approving my claim. In the end, their consensus was my cancellation was not covered because the medical diagnosis was not covered. At that point, I figured it was not worth pursuing my case further and asked for a policy refund. They ceased all communication with me. I will definitely not purchase another policy with them.
