Don't want your custom!
I was with SGIC for a year. After receiving my policy renewal statement recently and realising that they had increased my premium by 8 dollars a month I phoned them to ask why. The guy on the phone said it was because the value of my car had gone down so the risk of something going wrong with it had increased. This doesn't make sense because in the event of a claim they would have to pay me less anyway. I wrote to them on Facebook and they attempted to call me a couple of times but I kept missing their calls because they rang when I was working. I then called today to say I wanted to cancel my policy. The guy I spoke to didn't seem to care at all that they were losing my custom, didn't thank me and didn't try in the slightest to keep me as a customer. Glad I never had to make a claim with SGIC, can't imagine it would have been an easy process given the fact that all of their customer service reps seem to be inept at even the most simple tasks. Taking my money elsewhere!
