NRMA service representatives are generally extremely friendly and willing to help. We got a great price by bringing over family and friends, as well as taking out multiple policies with them.
Their product disclosure statement covers a much wider range of issues and claims compared to overly cheap services that have SO many caveats to prevent a claim. NRMA will let you claim pretty much any scenario - different drivers, learners etc. are all covered. It's very assuring to know that if my Mum borrowed my car, that she would be covered.
However, their claims system is slow and inconvenient. Experience with past insurers was much smoother and MUCH quicker. Even though we were not at fault, we had to book an assessment which took weeks. Previous insurers had us simply drive directly to a centre. I wish NRMA had this sort of system. If they did, it would be the PERFECT insurer.
