Dishonest, fraudulent.
Dishonesti took out travel insurance with Covermore prior to embarking on a 19 day cruise to NZ, the insurance was to cover sickness and medical expenses. On day four of the trip I was diagnosed by the ships GP with Covid and islated to my cabin for four days.
On return to Australia I submitted a claim for medical expenses. covermore refused my claim, so I appealed via their appeals department. Covermore then refused to communicate further.
I then submitted a complaint to the AFCA who forwarded the complaint to Covermore.
Covermore then contacted me approving my claim, and supplying two attachments. However, one form agreed to pay for medical expenses and missed shore excursions, which previously Covermore stated was not covered under the terms of the contract.
A second form 'Deed of Release', which I was required to sign, agreed to pay for missed shore excursions only. Furthermore, the Deed of Release further stated I would not pursue them further through the AFCA and I would keep the matter confidential.
This is the second time I have insured and claimed through Covermore. My first claim, Covermore rejected, I then appealed and Covermore finally paid me out.
Covermore appear to deny claims as a matter of course, hoping you will just go away. Very dishonest, not recommended.
